As Nigerians anxiously wait for the outcome of Federal Government’s meeting with the leaders of Labour, to know if the speculated strike will hold or not.

The chairman of Nigeria Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Lagos State chapter, Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede, affirmed that the union will join the strike if Federal Government fails to meet up with the demand of the organised labour.

Quoting him;

NURTW is an affiliate of the NLC, we shall obey its directive. So we have no choice than to join the strike anytime we’re called upon to do so.

Labour has demanded N30, 000 but the Federal Government insists it can only pay N24, 000 while state governments offered to pay N22, 500.

It would be recalled that the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) vowed to join the strike too whenever it commence.
