“INEC is frustrating Nigerians with this voters registration exercise”

“In February 2018, my friends and I launched a campaign tagged “DOOR TO DOOR VOTERS CARD SENSITIZATION”. In the course of this campaign, we visited several voters registration centres to confirm the complaints electorates lodge about the exercise; true to their words, there were too many flimsy excuses why voters had to go through so much stress to get registered”

According to one of the frustrated electorate Mr. Uchenna Igwe, said He registered since November 2017 and has not gotten his PVC till date.

“I and My brother have been coming here. Me, to get my PVC and my brother, for registration but we are yet to pass through the process die to excuses from the INEC officials and today is the last day. I don’t know what this country is turning into” Mr Igwe said.

Furthermore, the frustration seems to be seen only in the South South and South East region of the country especially the PDP states which happens to be a deliberate attempt by the federal government to Hinder the electorates in the south and south east region of the country as compared to the swift and massive registration process in the north even to the underaged.

“We heard excuses like no fuel, no network, no registration forms etc. People spent days without registering, some resorted to going to their villages to register, at the risk of not voting on election days.”

Francis who took it upon herself to check on the only INEC office in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital said “The attitude of INEC and government towards this VOTERS REGISTRATION EXERCISE should be condemned by all”
